Skills

CURCA: Center for Undergrad Research & Creative Activity:

Presented research & dissertation titled "Policy Recommendations for Substance Abuse Disorder: Treatment vs Punishment" as a part of my independent study titled “Mental illness, Substance Use, & Criminal Justice” where I decided to spend the spring 2019 semester preparing a project for WSU’s CURCA conference. I presented my research which focused on the history of the war on drugs, the chemical and biological processes within the brain when using substances, an investigation on current policies and conditions in prisons for those held for nonviolent drug-related offenses, and then concluded with policy recommendations for society, the medical field, criminal justice system, and advocation for harm reduction methods.
