As a Propulsion Mechanic with the 379th Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar

  • Flawlessly produced 100 propeller assemblies in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, New Dawn and Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa. Additionally,
  • Developed and implemented a cell concept for propeller production, reducing pipeline flow days from six days to three-day average. This new concept eliminated early propeller removals in the first quarter of 2012, down from 10 removals in the previous quarter.
  • Perfected testing for propeller assemblies, elevating production by 20 percent while returning 29 assets to supply during DEC2011 and driving supply kit fill rates to 100 percent, supporting C-130 aircraft across the theater.  
  • Led a rapid improvement event, which evaluated every aspect of the propeller buildup process, correcting 14 major deficiencies and submitting 13 technical order improvements. The innovations resulted in an increase in the average time on wing of reparable assets to 1,086 hours, an increase of 196 percent. 
  • Presented the Air Force Achievement Medal (2011-2012).

As part of my final project (Senior Design Project I & II) I functioned as the group leader. It exposed me to the different disciplines that comprise the civil engineering career, the process of investigation and presentation of any given project, and basic project management skills. I'm proficient using modeling and analyzing programs such as Auto CAD, Google Sketch-up, and SAP2000.
