Auburn University Auburn, Alabama Expected in 2012 Bachelor of Science : Mechanical Engineering - GPA :
  • Earned Automotive Certificate in addition to degree.
  • Made Dean's List in Fall of 2008 and Spring of 2012, with a graduating GPA of 3.24
  • Took classes relevant to the automotive industry including Engines, Vehicle Design, Vehicle Dynamics.
  • While working in Auburn's Formula SAE team, received training in TIG welding, machining, and finite element analysis involving multi-physics. Also learned composite design and manufacturing methods.
  • Designed a new, low weight brake system with high reliability and performance for Auburn University's 2011 Formula SAE car. The entire brake system was lauded by the head Brake Design Judge at competition as the best designed and well thought out brake system.

  • Later adapter and refined the 2011 rotor design for the 2012 Formula car, additional features to improve performance and reliability, including a new surface cooling feature that removed weight and aided in heat rejection.

  • Designed a second rotor that included cooling vanes. Both rotors were designed to be interchangeable on the car so that both rotors could be empirically tested on the same car.

  • Came up with and managed a project for the city of Chamblee that involved the recycling of old, damaged bleachers into newer, safer bleachers. The successful completion of the project resulted in making Eagle Scout in 2008.

  • Started a home business making medieval armor for historical reenactors and collectors. Developed a welding method that increased productivity and durability.

  • Was elected to Order of the Arrow, a boy scout honor society.
Altair - Chassis Engineer
Melvindale, MI, 07/2009 - 04/2013

Designed, manufactured, and tested high performance brake systems for 3 different formula cars. The culmination of the experience earned from 2 years of brake design culminated in the design of two radical rotor designs. The design chosen for use at competition cut rotor weight by 45%, increased heat rejection, and more than doubled the expected fatigue life of the rotors.

Atlanta Armory - Business Owner
City, STATE, 06/2006 - Current

Started a business making maille armor for reenactors and collectors. Developed a welding technique to improve productivity and quality, which allowed for competitive pricing even when compared to similar imported products.

War Eagle Motorsports - Manufacturing & Testing Technician
City, STATE, 08/2008 - 04/2009

Was responsible for manufacturing key components of Auburn University's 2009 formula car, including the frame, fuel tank, exhaust, and pedal box.
