Study: “Micro-bead Analysis of Cell Binding to Immobilized Lectin: An Alternative to Microarrays in the Development of Carbohydrate Drugs and Diagnostic Tests.”
Project focuses on investigating the effect of various carbohydrates acting as Lectin-inhibitors which in turn allows for potentially synthesizing a more cost-efficient alternative to the implementation of microarrays in the development of carbohydrate drugs and diagnostic tests (Micro-assays are currently the mainstay of the development of potential anti-HIV vaccines, various antibiotics/antivirals as well as blood tests for diagnosing certain autoimmune diseases such as Crohn's disease).
