As Assistant Director of Campus Recreation at MUW, I was directly responsible for Aquatics, Facilities, Risk Management and oversaw the hiring,training, and retaining of 40 student staff. I managed the everyday operations of the 80,000 sq. ft. Stark Recreation Center. While in this role I certified our student staff in American Red Cross CPR/First-Aid and our Lifeguards in American Red Cross Lifeguarding. I initiated a Red Shirt Drill Week every other month to test and evaluate our staffs readiness for incidents/accidents and to be sure everyone was extremely familiar with Emergency Action Plan.
Guided Campus Recreation's Aquatics department to achieving more participation and use of our 6-lane, 25 meter pool. Implemented a swimming initiative program for members, students, and faculty/staff to impress on them the value of swimming to help produce a healthier you. Spearheaded the acquisition of a 200 member swim club(Swim Columbus) using our facility and calling Stark Recreation Center home.

Oversaw Hiring and Training of entire staff of Camp Henry Pratt. Managed everyday activities of over 1,000 campers during the summer months and oversaw over 25 weekend groups throughout each calender year. Achieved 25% growth of Day Camp from first year to second. During school year I headed a Physical Education course to meet the Mississippi Department of Education competencies for 90+ Home Schooled students around North East Mississippi. Increased awareness on Teamwork and leadership training during overnight camps. Enhanced the experience of Camp Pratt by focusing on campers and what they had to offer to camp, rather than always focused on what camp has to offer campers.
As a student at Mississippi University for Women, I was a student worker at Stark Recreation Center. I was a member of the Health and Kiniesiology club and founder of Team Claire sports club. During my studies I emphasized my work in Health and Kiniesiology and Family Studies.
