Recently certified in Structural steel up to 3/8 inch. 6 months experience in stick and 1.5 years experience in MIG welding. I am completing a blue printing course at College of Sequoias. I have worked for a dairy fabricating business for over 1 year doing odd jobs. My duties included setting up and using an iron worker, cutting saw, grinders, cutting and heating torch, manual plasma cutter, pouring concrete, fabricating steel, setting up and using both stick and MIG welders, shop maintenance, bending re-bar and using various hand tools.

Finishing in top 10% of welding courses. Received acknowledgment for best blue print drawing in class. Promoted from shop hand to welder/fabricator within 6 months of employment at Hilvers Dairy Fabrication.
Laid out, fitted and fabricated metal components.Heated, formed and dressed metal parts with hand tools, torch and arc welding equipment.Positioned and clamped workpieces together and properly assembled them in jigs and fixtures. Helped manufacture large orders of different sizes of steel guards for concrete water troughs. Efficiently completed work orders given by shop foreman to ensure delivery of a quality product in a timely manner. Good communication skills relaying information from customers to shop foreman or boss.
My boss entrusted me to fix one of our concrete water trough molds that our shop foreman was unable to repair. Within a few hours I had the problem solved and they were able to use it the next day.
I am eager to learn and reliable. I have received increasing responsibilities with each new chance I've been given. If I do not know how to fix something, I am not afraid to ask questions or research options. I know my limitations, but I am not afraid of a challenge.
I plan to make welding a lifelong career. I enjoy working with my hands. I love making something out of nothing and would appreciate the opportunity to further my skills and knowledge with your organization.
Repaired steel fences, installed practice arena for hogs, dug holes, cut post to correct height, set posts, laid concrete, fabricated and set gates, herded livestock, maintained a clean and safe workshop. Worked independently.

I completed 2 years in welding. After my second year the instructor asked me to work the following summer as his personal fabricator at the Ag farm.
I completed many tasks both in the shop and in the field. Coursework in Arc and MIG Welding, drafting and construction.
Our school competed in a construction competition at a junior college. We placed second on our on-site project out of 10 schools.

Instructor has taken a personal interest in my skills and eagerness to expand my knowledge, he has asked me to enroll in a separate program to further my experience and chances of employment. He is an AWS certified welding inspector and spent 30+ years in the plumbers and pipe fitters union and fills I would excel in this field.
