During my work experience as a Supervisor (A) I was able to pick up and enhance qualifications to give me better knowledge, wisdom and
understanding of the management aspect of the Post Office.
In this role I was able pick of several qualifications to enhance my growth within
the Post Office such as:
CHANGE MANAGEMENT: In the Post Office day to day routine can change.
In this position as Supervisor (A) I was able to implemented
some changes that occurred while I was in this position.
Giving a previously scenario the offices in the area just begun the Amazon deliveries
and I was able to prepare the employees for this change by staying in continuous communication with them and getting them prepared for the
Amazon launch date.
Once we started the deliveries for Amazon I reassured my employees of the importance of delivering and scanning
packages on time.
I also allowed feed back and concerns they may had on completing these task.
Keeping the motivation, understanding and
communication line at a high was my goal.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Effective communication is very important in everything that we do.
In this position I communicated often.
One scenario of how communication is important is when I had to give the CCA's the instructions on Sunday Delivery for Amazon.
able to be concise and clear on the procedures for Sunday delivery and every CCA will have to work on Sunday.
However, I did take in
concerns of CCA's working every Sunday which I believe it was unfair and not just so I implemented rotations.
Each CCA was able to work
one Sunday out of the month.
This allowed some of the CCA's that attended church or other religion practice on Sunday to attend.
EMPLOYEE FOCUS: Working in a arena or station where the population is many you want to make it a safe and positive work environment
by doing this you create a higher moral and you are showing the employees that you care about their success in their job responsibilities.

FUNCTIONAL ADMINISTRATION: Each day I had to complete reports and analyzes different reports to see what we may need for the

side making sure all routes and clerk functions where covered the day before and plan ahead of potential call outs by making these type of
changes it increase our percentage from 80% to 95% of having all routes and clerk functions covered.
When adjusting carrier pivots and
overtime we where able to stay in the guidelines of the national and local agreements.
PERSONAL ACUMEN: In the Post Office routines and reports change or are added daily.
I was able to stay ahead by reviewing and reading
up on the new updates and changes.
If I had a question or concern I was able to share my thoughts and questions with my area manager to get
a better understanding on the new implemented goal and objectives.
This open the door for my area manger to gain trustworthiness and
dependability on my work habits and ethnics.
KNOWLEDGE OF PERFORMANCE MESUREMENT: I know that random stations have ODIS-RPW testing.
The ODIS-RPW system was
developed to more efficiently and economically gather information previously collected by two separate systems, the ODIS system and the
ODIS-RPW is designed to produce national revenue, volume, and weight estimates for various rate categories with specific
targets on a quarterly basis.
Daily I was looking for better ways to decrease the budget with in the station.
Scenario our station had a
problem with using people for overtime which caused more money being spent in the post office.
In order to make a change I started to look
at the root cause of why were there so many carriers having overtime.
We started to ask for assistance to cover the call outs and the shortage
Everyday before the next work day I would look over the schedule to make sure we have coverage for the next day and adjust the
schedule as changes arrived.
