Perform as SCO Polyethylene Unit Leader supporting three Gas Phase Polyethylene trains and serving as an influential leader to a staff of 17 employees.

  • Developed department strategy to drive team focus on key pillars of EH&S, Business Success, People and Future Improvement.

  • Delivered a successful conversion of an internal quality analysis technology from Alpine for quality product release to a new technology (rheology), working with a cross-functional team to prepare trials, develop methodology, lead evaluation, secure funding for new equipment, and successfully trained and converted over to the rheology methodology. This has proved increase in reliability of production by reducing offgrade production annually by 12MM lbs and providing an increased performance product for customers focusing on an improvement in Cx.

Perform as SCO Polyethylene Production Coordinator supporting three Gas Phase Polyethylene trains producing over 50 different products, over 80 different raw materials and 350 type changes annually.

  • Facilitated production capability through Covid-19 restrictions in 2020 and the Gulf Coast 2021 Freeze impacts to supply chain. During both of these events, massive impact to supply chain were seen including raw material allocations from over 75% of our suppliers. With continued collaboration with suppliers, supply chain, R&D and TS&D the trains were able to meet 100% of the demand needs by the business. Utilizing my experience of the technology and capabilities of the facility, as well as the mandatory quality requirements, allowed for solutions to be derived.
  • Provide support and leadership to support trail development of some key products for dow, including health grade production bringing GPPE into the pharmaceutical market.

  • Led plant level improvement process by gathering and analyzing data, evaluating improvement opportunities and implementing improvement projects.
  • Assure plant level improvements align with Plant Specific Technology Plan, thereby closing local performance gaps and increasing Asset Capability (AC).
  • Performed as lead Man Rep for 2017 Live Cutover of SCO GPPE Raw Material and Utility systems utilizing plant technology experience while developing work process and implementation experience to successfully keep LP6 and LP6 in operation during LP3 gulfstream outage. This consisted of live conversion of ~160 Instrument IO saving Dow over $20MM
  • Served as Man Rep for LP3 Gulfstream Debottleneck project. Utilized experience and knowledge of plant along with learnings from Live cutover work to navigate project scope to remove roadblocks resulting in record breaking timeline
  • Led tech center audit in 2015, successfully and kick-started POLY People team at plant level

Performed as LP3 Train 2 Production Engineer for 1.5 years (2012 - 2014), LP3 Train 1 and Train 2 Production Engineer for 0.5 year (2014), and LP3 Reaction Production Engineer for the remaining 1.5 years (2014 - 2016).

  • Drove Resin Convey improvements to increase production rate on Train 2 by improving reliability of existing equipment and operating discipline.
  • Implemented purification situational awareness with implementation of MET purification bed throughput regeneration schedules. Utilization of program to emphasize when purification beds are approaching saturation and need to be regenerated to ensure to poison breakthrough.
  • Implemented cooling optimization on both LP3 Reactors, utilizing optimization of operating parameters and improving operating discipline for cooling improvements to increase production rates during summer months
  • Using Six Sigma methodology, implemented online backflushing of Reactor 1 cycle gas cooler to increase production rates during summer months, 10 year NPV of $39 Million
  • LOPC reduction efforts including implementing project to eliminate irreparable rental refrigeration skid with new refrigeration skid to reduce LOPC causes. This upgraded system added additional cooling capacity increasing savings on raw material costs, receiving WRAP award in 2014.
