I currently teach reading comprehension, written expression, vocabulary, and memory skills through implementation of the SIM Learning Strategies, which are research validated through the University of Kansas, Center for Research on Learning. I also lead professional development strategy training sessions for the other teachers in my department, along with leading department and team meetings.
Developed individual educational plans (IEP) and individual transition plans(ITP) designed to promote educational, physical and social development. Established and communicated clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects to both students and parents. Conducted small group and individual classroom activities with students based on differentiated learning needs.

Successfully delivered educational, emotional, and behavioral supports in all academic subject areas to students with moderate to severe Emotional Behavioral Disorders in grades 3 through 5. Conducted small group and individual classroom activities with students based on differentiated learning needs. I designed and produced a musical adaptation of "The Wizard of Oz" that my students performed for parents, teachers, and School System Staff. I also taught my students to play and perform, using hand bells.
