  • Performed all surveying aspects on multiple housing developments including : deed research, boundary and topo survey, grade stakes, curb and drainage stakes, foundation stakeout, foundation pinning, foundation location, final grading and final as-builts.

  • Constitution Pipeline Project for Williams Gas Company my duties included: training, mentoring and assigning work to crew members, setting GPS control to work off of, providing a route survey for and staking 121 miles of proposed pipeline, easements and work space. I was responsible for coordinating with 2 other surveying firms, my office as well as personnel from many different disciplines of construction from Williams ( surveyors, engineers, land agents, landowners and local authorities). Also responsible for reviewing my own work through Trimble office, red lining plans, making daily field reports, following safety guidelines. This project had many challenges such as working 3 hours from our nearest office as well as having to deal with landowner permission issues requiring on the fly decision making while remaining efficient and staying within the guidelines and scope of work.
  • Railway Surveys which included : work for the NJ Port Authority, providing level runs and Amberg rail scanning for monitoring surveys, work for WMATA, setting scan targets, Amberg rail scanning, conventional and GPS surveys for above ground stations.
  • Gas Pipeline Surveys for Williams Gas duties included : performing as builts including editing and red lining plans, cataloging pipe and fitting size, type, coating, serial numbers etc. used to reconcile materials bought vs used. Locating markout, boundary and topo surveys. There were about 6 different sites hundreds of miles apart in the North Carolina/Virginia area all at different stages of construction. I was successful in the charged task of coordinating with each stations manager to come up with when to be at each site each day as to avoid any downtime on the survey end of the project.

Instrument Operator to Crew Chief Mc Kim & Creed Stafford, TX,
  • Started as instrument operator on a 2 man crew. Deed research, title work, large and small boundary and topo surveys, stakeout for construction, level runs, making cut sheets, column line stakeout.
  • Drafting using Autocad, (specifically Terramodel), to calculate closure errors, resolving overlaps and gores, determine boundaries, generating contours, providing finished deliverable maps to PLS for approval.
  • 2014 promoted to Crew Chief : responsibilities included those listed above as well as training new employees with no survey experience to be competent and efficient workers as well as training them on Terramodel.
  • Spectra Energy 5 mile gas pipeline replacement. This was my first job as quasi project manager where I was responsible for directing my crew and a crew our firm sub contracted. We were responsible for the following : using a metrotech to locate and mark out a 5 mile run of pipe. Calculating and staking out the easement and work space based on that location, Stationing and cataloging all removed pipe, performing an asbuilt of the new line including each pipe type, manufacturer, serial number, coating type, bend and fitting. Preparing a final as built map showing all of the information as well as ground cover and each weld and x-ray number on the line.

  • This was my first experience in the world of land surveying. I worked for a land surveyor that worked 99% of the time doing land surveys for Real Estate Companies.
  • As a part time employee ( 3 days a week) I learned how to be a Rod Person and within the first 6 months was taught how to run a total station. Deed research, looked for evidence, title surveys, set property corners.
