Summary

I have been in the Farm Equipment business since 1990 where as I started as a Parts Specialist in Goodland, Kansas. I have always been driven to succeed and wanted to move up in the business and there was an opportunity to be a Parts Manager at a Case International dealership in Haxtun, Colorado so we moved there in 1994. The owner Leon Atkins saw potential in me and moved me into the sales department in 2001. I sold machinery as well as ran the parts department. In 2006 Leon's daughter became very sick and was in the Mayo Clinic for over 6 months in Phoenix, Arizona so he turned the day to day business over to me and asked that I take care of the store and him. He was gone for several months and when he came back the store had boomed. We went from then a 3-4 million dollar business to a little over 8 million. As the years went by I was able to hire some tremendous people and we grew to where we had almost 45 percent market share in Phillips County. We have been able to do that with hard work and building great loyalty from our customers.

In 2011 Leon Atkins sold the business to Ag Power Equipment Company. I was part owner in the business and our Market Share continued to grow. In May of 2018 we sold to Plains Ag. It was a great change for the employees of Ag Power Equipment. We continued to grow as a dealership and achieved Pinnacle status in 2020.

In June of 2021 I was able to move to Goodland, Kansas and take over as Store Manager for the Goodland, Kansas and Burlington, Colorado stores. We have been able to turn around all three departments (Sales, Service and Parts) in the last two years. We have also achieved Case IH Pinnacle status the last two years.
