My background for the last 22 years has been in retail management. I never settle for second best or worse. I strive for excellence each and every day.
Team building with the right energetic team and a strong understanding of what great service "is" and that there is nothing more important that we do.
The second CVS/Pharmacy Store 2168 for approx 11 yrs was a top hundred in the chain including the backend, Pharmacy. which i had over 70 at one point. Being able to put yourself and understand the mindset of a customer not only in the products they are looking for but the entire experience from the entrance thru the checkout experience. Now included in all of that is recommending , location, and presentation of what the company i work for wants to focus on. A positive open relationship with who i report to is key. undersigning that sales management and achieving budgets must be looked at daily basis and more if needed. Every store i have run has been successful whether it be with CVS or previously Blockbuster Video. Every store i took over was never running smoothly. Creating attainable action plans is a must as well as having an over all plan.
helping other stores in need
looking for new hires each and every day. don't wait till you need people.
highly motivated, very service oriented.
ability to to an angry frustrated customer to a loyal happy customer .
ability to make others better
respect employees as i want to be respected
several best shrink results, number one in customer service in the entire chain one year out of over 6000 stores, respected by region as a region leader always willing to help. promoting from within and sharing with other stores in need.My employee turnover has always been the lowest as well as human resource issues. This is i treat my employees with respect but letting them know myexpectations from day one. Counseling employees is a part of the business but sitting them down one on one to find the root cause and discuss what must happen and immediate improvement must be agreed upon. Each and every employee is treated equally and there are no favorites. over my career i would say i have had 5 CEO visits, but uncountable numbers
of corporate visits. Every year CVS held there stock analyst at the hotel two blocks from my store.
i generally based my employee of the month on customer service and the amount of customers who requested to speak to me regarding great service from one of my employees. i created other awards for upsetting and recognition of a great job .
