Dependable, self-directed CPA with corporate and public accounting experience and exceptional people skills. Versed in financial statement preparation, and tax accounting. Desires a change of pace into the challenging role as a CFO.
Started my own public accounting practice in early 2010. During this time I have prepared tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, corporations, and not-for-profit organizations; prepared reviews and compilations for clients; represented clients under federal and state audits; advised business clients on major decisions; trained clients to prepare their books on Quickbooks and Peachtree; developed and trained the firm's support staff for the various functions we serve in public practice.
Was the right hand to the sole practitioner. Developed steps to take to develop Compilations and Reviews from start to finish, develop internal controls, made sure the firm was in compliance with the AICPA Attestation standards: trained staff on these steps, as well as, on tax return preparation, and the use of tax and write-up software programs; reviewed client general ledgers, proposed corrections, and trained client's accounting staff to improve their quality of accounting data, in order to streamline our process and at the same time establish trusting client relationships.
Started my career in public accounting. Concentration in tax (individual, partnership, corporate, trust and non-for-profit returns. Reviewed and proposed corrections to businesses' general ledger balances. Prepared client compilations. Enjoyed working with business clients and with the firm's staff.
Was in charge of all the bookeeping and cash management for the parent company of an aggressively growing conglomerate of publicly traded REIT (Real-estate investment trust). Learned a lot about financial reporting for publicly traded corporations. I was one of about 150 staff accountants working for corporate executives (CPA's) that came from large accounting firms in the east coast of the USA. The experience was exhilarating. Left the company to concentrate and finish on my masters degree.
Office manager, full charge bookeeper, client trainer. Wore multiple hats in a small company which sold computers and accounting software, including point-of-sale systems. Trained and provided technical support to clients who purchased the software from the business. Left to start a family.
Concentration on Financial Reporting in December 2007.
Graduated valedictorian in a small, private, bi-lingual high school.
Was very active in student organizations, music, drama, yearbook, and newspaper.
