Social work experience with veterans experiencing a variety of problems including depression, family/relationship issues, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, economic problems, and aging (which sometimes involved the need for the patient to move to higher care and providing support during adjustment of their new home). Treatment included a psycho-social assessment, counseling and development of a realistic treatment plan in coordination with the veteran's medical team. Prepared and gave educational seminars regarding behavioral change with weight management. A progress note was written in the VA computer system on each patient.
Other social work experience includes hospital social work and adoption home studies in the Philippines for families adopting a Filipino child. Although the reports were sent to an agency the assessments were done independently.

Provided social work service in several settings: Primary Care, Adult Day Care, and Inpatient (hospital) Care. Master's Degree internship included experience in drug and alcohol treatment as well as hospital inpatient care. Bachelor's Degree Internship was in the Philippines and included experience with social services in the community as well as the mental health clinic on Clark Air Base.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, presented behavioral recommendations for the VA weight loss program. My segment was presented monthly for a three year period.
