I have always had a love and fascination for nature and the sciences. As a child I was always outside exploring and getting into trouble. I would spend hours riding my Schwinn single speed bicycle anywhere I could take it. I loved to watch nature programs on television, i.e. The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau, National Geographic and yes even Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom! So my progression into Astronomy and Mineral collecting was a predictable if not natural progression. After reading Patrick Moore's book "Seeing Stars," I was hooked and bought a planisphere and taught myself the constellations in the night sky. Around that same time, while doing a road trip to Arizona, I happened upon a "mom and pop" rock and gem store near Old Tucson. After seeing all the beautiful mineral specimens on hand, I knew I had discovered another hobby. I purchased my first pieces from that store and I collect to this day! Now, by the time I hit 15 and a half years of age, I was ready to once again discover a new passion. My good friend Adam had a new Kawasaki 650 and let me train on it for my driving exam. I loved riding so much I purchased my own motorcycle and completed my exam on it. Suffice it to say, I have been riding for 40 years and have enjoyed every minute of it.
