Work History
to 10/2013 Signal Construction Signalman Florida East Coast Railway | Fort Pierce, FL,
    Using a multitude of equipment from backhoes to large cranes, dump truck to trenching machines and underground horizontal drilling machines,installed railroad crossing houses and gate mechanisms ,signal bridges ,switches ,signals ,train defect detectors. i being part of a team that consisted of anywhere from 5 workers to 12 workers would locate underground cable with cable locators ,help pull cable runs and wire up locations per standard and per blue print and test with different multi-meters before being put into service. Upon completion of installation of new equipment used cranes ,grapple trucks ,backhoes ,and mini excavators to remove retired assets. the following is break down of a few things i did as a signalman on a signal construction team:
  • Completed tear-down of existing structures and prepared for new construction.
  • Dug trenches, backfilled holes and compacted earth to prepare for new construction.
  • Mixed porridge of catch basins and poured and sawed off concrete and asphalt.
  • Consistently assumed additional responsibilities and worked extended hours to meet project deadlines.
  • Prepared and cleaned construction sites by removing debris.
  • Loaded and unloaded building materials used for construction.
  • Set ladders, scaffolds and hoists in place for taking supplies to roofs.
  • Graded and maintained railroad right-of-ways and assisted in laying ties and rails.
  • Operated equipment such as backhoes ,cranes ,dump trucks ,trenchers, mini excavators ,horizontal underground drilling machine.

10/2013 to 08/2016 Signal Construction Foreman Csx Transportation | City, STATE,
    Being a signal construction foreman, Safety of the crew was number one priority. Beyond that i was in charge of the day to day planning and operation of the signal construction crews. At any give point i could have had one crew consisting of four workers to six four worker crews. i would ensure proper installation of new signaling equipment and road crossing equipment as well as modification to the existing signaling system per industry standards and federal regulations. Our construction projects could span anywhere from five miles to thirty miles that i was directly responsible for. i would computer programs including excel, outlook, word and power point to turn in progress update forms. Being safety leader of the team also meant monthly my crew would me with supervision and hold a safety overlap meeting for which i was to lead with power point presentations and motivational lectures for local crews. Some examples of tasks in this position included;
  • Accurately estimated time and materials costs for projects.
  • Provided accurate measurements and estimates for all projects.
  • Requisitioned new supplies and equipment.
  • Consistently assumed additional responsibilities and worked extended hours to meet project deadlines.
  • Monitored inventory and reported items to be restocked for each job.

08/2016 to Current Signal Maintainer Csx Transportation | City, STATE, As a signal maintainer i am responsible for the federal testing and day to day upkeep of thirty plus miles of track ,signals ,switches ,and crossings. i check to ensure that everything is properly functioning and up to federal regulations. Typically a position in which i work alone, however if another signal maintainer needs help i lend a hand. Using blue prints, analog and digital meters and hand tools i trouble shoot issue throughout the day and accept trouble calls at night and on weekends.
