I started my employment with American Fuji Seal when I was 20 years of age in 2002. Our main objective was to begin a new up and coming process of shrink labels for the food and drug administrations. The company started with only a few customers to now over hundreds around the world. My job duties included many different requirements, as I was one of only a few that could perform many different tasks at any given time. The job required a lot of lifting, sometimes up to 60 plus pounds, and standing for long periods of time. Computer knowledge was very essential for this job as everything was digital. Being able to adapt to changes in the computer systems was something that we had to do on a regular basis to keep up with the growing technology advancements. Up until a year ago I was the only female in the department to run a slitter machine. It is a very demanding job that requires precision on setting blades, as well as measuring cuts to approve accuracy. Upon completion of each roll it is quality checked for perfection before being boxed out to customers. I am a very organized and detail oriented person as my job required that skill. Having a clean and functionable work space guarantees quality. I not only apply that to work, but in my home life also. When I create something, not only does my time clock number stamp on that product, a little sense of gratification happens when I see that product on the shelf in a store.
I was hired at Kroger for the start of the outdoor planting season. My main job requirements was to unload trucks upon arrival, take inventory, and set up a working display that appealed to customers. I was responsible to care for all the plants/flowers as well as price each item to sell. This was a job to where I learned to work independently and without much supervision. Once the growing season was over I transferred to becoming a cashier/customer service agent on the front end. I really enjoyed this job, as I am a people person. My duties included checking groceries out for the public in a timely manner, receiving payments, helping customers to their vehicle if needed, or just simply asking someone if they were having a nice day. I later learned the self scan centers to where I gained much practice multitasking. Working with the public can sometimes be demanding, but I was always told to treat others as you want to be treated. With leaving this job I have to say I learned the meaning of patience and self control in sometimes unruly situations.
Working at Pizza Hut was my very first job while I was still in high school. My responsibilities included greeting customers in a timely manner, as well as, rotating sections so each employee would have a table to work with. I provided each customer with the best service I could give, as the jobs income was primarily tips. If something was not right you could guarantee I would find a way to make it better. The best part of working at Pizza Hut was when customers would ask for you specifically. That meant something to me on a personal level. Another aspect of the jobs was taking orders over the phone, and making sure the drivers were dispatched accordingly to assure product was delivered hot and fresh. I ended my employment there to begin my freshman year of college.
When not at work I enjoy the company of my family, taking on household projects, and being a personal chauffeur to my little's. I am currently married to my husband of 9 years (Scott), and together we have a 13 year old son (Landon), and a 8 year old little girl (Aubrey). They are your typical children who are involved in lots of sports and clubs in school. I'm in hope of finding a new career path that will allow me to be the side line parent that I strive to be. These are the most important memories of my life with them, as they are growing everyday. I hear ever so often the phrase "I wish I did". Mine will be "I DID".
