• Disassemble engines and repair or replace defective parts
• Adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturer's performance specifications
• Repair, replace and adjust brake, drive and hydraulic systems
• Knowledge of exhaust systems, fuel ignition repairs, equipment calibration and pressure indicators
• Operate equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges and computerized diagnostic devices
• Test vehicles, their components and systems
• Diagnose computer and electrical failures with appropriate testing equipment
• Safely use all hand and power tools including the T-stripper, T-cutter, torque and wrench
• Examine gauges and dials to verify that the testing equipment is working properly
• Train and assist staff in analyzing engine malfunctions, proper coolant flush processes and all aspects of air conditioning testing
• Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems
• Conduct routine maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications and tune-ups to prevent future breakdowns
