I have served in law enforcement for approximately 10 years, with two agencies within the county. During the times served at both departments I have achieved the rank of Sergeant. I have attended several different classes to better my career in Law Enforcement and have approximately 685 hours of training under my belt. During my time at White Lake Police Department I assisted with the maintenance and handling of the departments evidence room and disposing of evidence once a court order was obtained. During my time in law enforcement I have set goals to complete a program offered through the NC Justice Academy and succeeded in becoming the three hundred and twenty-seventh officer to achieve this since 1999. While attending training at the NC Justice Academy I completed several courses to include; Police Law Institute, Field Training Officer, First Line Supervision, Robbery Response, and K-9 Legal issues to name a few.
During my time in law enforcement I have arrested numerous people for various offenses. I have been in multiple foot chases involving dangerous subjects who were apprehended without any issue. For one example I received a call for shots fired and arrived in the area, noticing a subject fitting the description, a foot chase ensued where the subject ultimately tossed a firearm and illegal narcotics were located within his pocket upon apprehension. I have been involved in a vehicle chase where two juveniles were in possession of a stolen vehicle which ended up in Columbus County where a know vehicle stop was conducted alone apprehending the driver.
