Job Specific Activities: Tracks tourism budget carefully; maintains the status of funds at all times. Oversees the SMERF (Social, Military, Education, Religious and Fraternal) Market and Sports Market. Actively seeks to recruit conventions and events with the use of competitive proposals. Selects appropriate venues and places commercials and advertising to promote tourism and visitors to Amarillo. Meets the goals set forth in the contract with the City of Amarillo using identified strategies. Develops a marketing plan and schedules appointments to proactively promote the tourism efforts of CVC. Assists event planners with event promotion locally. Attends the Chamber Executive Committee meetings and the Chamber Board meetings to present CVC report.
