  • Responsible for ensuring constant flow of raw materials being fed into the production line through various machines, feeders, and tanks to accommodate specifications needed to produce the correct interior fiberglass product needed for the automotive customer by following customer instructions. (Resin, Fiberglass, Water, Soap, Maleic Acid, A1100, Protolube, Carbon Black Dye, DeFoamer.)
  • Adjusting hot/cold nip roll pressures, dryer belt speed and temperatures, laminator gaps, pull roll speeds, routing film at the film roll stations, setting slitter and shear knives specs, and adjusting raw material feed rates to satisfy specifications of the order needed to be ran for the customer.
  • Troubleshooting machine malfunctions and also making adjustments to the line on while running to correct any blemish or tearing or any other issue that are causing the sheets to be scrap for the packagers on the finishing end of the line.
  • Filling out audits routinely to ensure that the line is being ran according to company standard procedure and to meet standards of the customer. Any fault detected must be corrected immediately while machines are running or must be shut down depending on the situation.

  • Analyzing assignments posted on each 500-1000 gallon mixing tanks to determine what material needs to be made and packaged in each zone for the shift that are provided by the quality chemists.
  • Utilizing the raw materials provided by the material handlers are then processed and used inside the tanks (water, resin, pellets, solvents) to be agitated for a certain amount of time until sample is ready to be taken.
  • Once sample is passed and meets customer specifications from the correct amount of raw materials needed to make the adhesive it is then ready to be packaged.
  • The adhesive is then packaged per customer requirements in various containers such as 1 gallon cans, 5 gallon pails, 54 gallon drums, and 345 gallon steel totes.
  • Once the glue or solvent is done being packaged it is ready to be taken to the shipping area and be loaded onto freights via fork lift.
  • Physically demanding environment with very little ventilation and had to be able to carry, push, or pull 70+ lbs.
  • Gas House operations required different forms of gas content as well as various forms of adhesive to be filled into different variations of tanks to be shaken and sent down a conveyor belt to then be placed on a pallet and wrapped properly and to then be taken to the shipping area to be sent off to the customer.
  • The amounts of gas and adhesive are put into the operating system via the required recipe needed by the customer and are then used to fill the tanks. (Dimethyl Ether, 134A, Nitrogen, CO2, Propane, and Oxygen)
  • Once the operator clamps down the canisters and tightens the attachment needed to fill it, you open up the valve and it fills the material by pounds until the unit is met and then you disconnect the line and switch over to whatever gas or adhesive is needed next to meet customer specs.
  • The Gas House is an extremely combustible area with many potential hazards so safety was always a top priority for myself and with the company.
