  • Responsible for the visual and physical inspection of all incoming and outgoing vehicles, persons, deliveries as well as any item or persons entering or exiting the institution through the Rear Gate. This was crucial to the security of the institution. All deliveries came through my position and it was my responsibility to ensure no contraband entered or exited the institution. While working the Rear Gate I removed pallets being delivered by operating a fork lift. I operated a fork lift on a daily basis for over 10 years.
  • One of two supervisors of the Special Operations Response Team (SORT) at our institution. The SORT team is a team of 12 individuals specializing in numerous different areas, including; hostage rescue, strategic extractions, hostage negotiations and high profile/risk inmate escorts. SORT is the only team with authorization to carry out lethal measures inside the institution.
  • Lieutenant for a period of time. As a lieutenant l was responsible for the 4 pm to 12 am shift at the institution. My responsibilities included direct supervision of approximately 50 employees assigned to numerous different areas including; The Special Housing Unit (Segregation), Food Service, 12 housing units and Recreation. As a lieutenant I was the point of contact for all departments on the second shift and responsible for the entire institution.
  • One of four CPR instructors responsible for training all staff at FCC Forrest City. This training was conducted annually, and included basic first aid.
  • Wrote contingency plans for the institution in numerous different areas including; The armed escort of high profile/risk inmates, armed escape attempt, basic prisoner transportation and inclement weather.
