My duties start with coordinating all departments in developing project plans for prioritized initiatives while keeping our costs minimized and resulting in maximum returns. Other responsibilities included maintenance, packing and stocking of all bulk foods. I am responsible for following the merchandising bulk plan, by properly packaging and scaling bulk items, filling bulk pins, preparing, wrapping and pricing bulk packages accurately and legibly. Rotating products using code dates while making sure the company's cleaning and sanitation program were followed was essential to my manager. I provided customer care which ensured the bulk items were properly prepared, packaged and presented while making certain the bulk area was clean at all times.
Primarily, I was assisting the Bulk Manager as needed which is quite often.Overseeing the department in my manager's absence made maintaining all equipment to be in safe working order a priority. Receiving, unloading and stocking merchandise as needed throughout the work day / night made for some heavy lifting of up to 50 lbs and from 4" to 36" for up to a distance of 4 feet for up to 15 hours without mechanical assistance.
First and foremost when working this position, understanding the "big picture" while being able to meet all the objectives in each stage of planning an event ultimately made you successful. Actual planning, design, and production of a successful event and having a happy client meant that multi managing and tasking were part of the job, every minute of each day.
Management of of the project elements and staying within time limits and budget were obviously the first steps in creating a dynamic event. Heavy communication with clients via telephone, email, messages and electronic media was critical in closing business.
Providing well written reports to the owner as well as brainstorming and recognizing successful ideas to improve services and the quality of our events while maintaining profitability was a daily ritual for the entire staff. Ensuring complete satisfaction and our clientele comfortable was solely my responsibility. Conducting market research, gathering other necessary and essential information for the overall success of the event was a huge part of why clients chose to do business with us again and again. Thinking outside the box while maintaining complete control of their event was necessary in keeping ahead of the competition.
Management of the facilities, decor, entertainment, catering, transportation were all part of my daily tasks.
Another important duty of mine was to make sure all laws, regulations, insurance, health and safety obligations were met while maintaining enthusiasm regardless of the problems arising. Communication and management of all staff by coordinating their specific duties and schedule, collaboration of client's marketing and advertising implemented in our event, staying in touch with all PR and advertising departments while staying proactive on troubleshooting of any problem on event day.
Pre-event and post event evaluations, reports and outcomes were also part of my duties as well as identifying all opportunities, referral calls, markets and competition.
My duties essentially revolved around assisting management in all operational procedures as well as in the handling of cash, deposits, women's and men's departments etc. Recommendations in regards to mark downs on products and re-orders were primary functions while sharing ideas to management for more effective marketing and increased sales. Identifying opportunities, driving business with actual plans of action to maximize results through re-orders on products was a challenging part of my duties. Sales analysis, market research on advertising trends, fashion trends while gathering comparative and historical data for the future success of the company often started with new strategies and once again thinking outside of the box and putting those ideas to a plan of action.
