I am currently a life member of the squad. I have not run calls for awhile but still maintain contact during many functions. I am not currently certified in my EMT.
While running as an active member I maintained all required classes and sought out continuing education classes.
I ran calls, maintained run sheets, held office, assessed emergency situations. I continually strived to have a professional relationship with my patients, my co-volunteers, hospital and police.
I held many certificates including but not limited to : hazmat, search and rescue, high angle rescue, Emergency Vehicle Operators License, vehicle patient excavation and radio communication between hospitals and police.
I worked for the Celanese Corporation for 36 years. I started out as an operator and then Lead coordinator for the shift.
My duties were to assign, maintain, troubleshoot problems and lead the shift of employees.
I lead daily safety meetings. I continually sought and completed training to advance my knowledge of the job.
I worked with contractors reviewing their job scope, performed the lock out tag out and permitting and followup of the work orders.
I worked with the plant safety team. I also traveled to various customer plants to do safety audits.
I was previously a member of Celco fire and EMS. I was trained in hazmat, search and rescue, high angle rescue and triage coordinator. I served several years as the EMT captain on shift.
I worked upgrade at the Gate House (when Celanese still ran it) dispatching, taking care of plant customers, monitoring cameras and corresponding with the public.
I served with the HR department and training coordinator interviewing potential prospects for employment.
I worked shift work for 34 of the 36 years. I worked several hours of voluntary and involuntary overtime. I pride myself in my accomplishments and education I acquired while working at Celanese. I feel it has helped me in many other aspects of growth and leadership.
During the summers of 1977-1979 I worked summer jobs with the US Forestry Service. As a school aged employee I worked with a group building, clearing AT trails, rock work, and many other things for the betterment of Jefferson National Forest.
I was hired in a full time position in 1980. I was a Fire Fighter, Periodically a Fire Fighter Liaison. I worked on fires in the Jefferson, Tennessee, Kentucky, California. I helped complete Red Devils (Federal paper work for each fire fighter to receive pay).
I worked on various projects throughout the Jefferson.
This was my first public job. This is where I learned the importance of communication, safety, honesty, work ethics and values.
I take great pride in giving back to our great community through working with the Pearisburg Junior Women's club.
Thank you for taking the time to talk with me and provide insight about the Dispatch position.
