Becoming a lead was a big accomplishment because it gave me the opportunity to work in several locations and to learn more of the business aspect of the zoo; such as budgeted hours and sales. By becoming a lead it had opened up more opportunities in the work place which lead me to being nominated for awards. I have received an award called "Zooper Star" from my current employer for my amazing work attitude and guest engagement. Every quarter each zone in the zoo can nominate an employee for their amazing work and accomplishments. Only five employees get selected for the award and I was chosen out of more then 30 nominees for being flexible with scheduling and willing to step up when needed to cover other lead's shifts; along with my amazing guest interactions.
