As a Relief Specialist, I have performed exceptionally at various positions which include Head/Senior Teller, Member Information Specialist, Member Service Representative, and also as a courier. These job responsibilities include managing and balancing the branch vault, ordering money for the branch, and providing assistance to other staff members in any decision making process. As a Member Service Representative I have performed excellent member service and provided members with a comfortable and confident perception of myself and of my credit union. This includes general account assistance as well as opening the numerous accounts offered at BayPort Credit Union. Also, in my experience I have been able to provide our members with applying and funding of loans in a timely manner with a policy that includes communicating, searching for member needs, and recommending the most beneficial products. As a Member Information Specialist I have learned the ability to multi-task while maintaining a comfortable branch atmosphere and showing respect and kindness to anyone who visits a BayPort Credit Union Branch location. During my time in this position I have familiarized myself with many different departments and the various colleagues in which they reside. As courier, I have also gained the knowledge of how different documents are processed and how our interoffice and post office mail are handled.
During my time at Ferrum College, a sufficient amount of time was devoted towards social work and received a Bachelor of Science in Liberal studies which include three minors in Sociology, Psychology, and Fine Arts. I also participated in many fund raising and community work during this time which include food drives, group facilitating in budgeting, mentoring, and an internship with a non-profit organization named Virginia Cares which primary purpose was to provide services to those in need with employment and financial assistance.
