A-STEP - As a sleep technologist, you will be assisting specialists in the clinical assessment, testing, diagnosis, and prevention of sleep-related disorders. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine’s (AASM) Accredited Sleep Technologist Education Program (A-STEP) equips trainees with the education needed to excel as a sleep technologist and prepares you for taking a sleep technologist certification exam.
RPSGT: a Technologist must have the necessary educational and clinical experience, hold a Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or its equivalent, adhere to the BRPT Standards of Conduct and pass the RPSGT credentialing exam.
General Knowledge Required: Medical terminology, safety, verbal and written communication skills, ethics, patient confidentiality, basic patient care and emergency procedures, basic math skills and calculations, computer skills.
