07/2013 to Current Purchasing Supervisor Cdw | Shelton, CT,
  • As the purchasing supervisor I review requisitions to determine how the purchase should be made and if the funding is appropriate for each purchase. Oversee the purchase of goods that support all departments and sites in the district. Communicate with district staff and outside vendors through phone, email and in person, conversations to answer all questions and resolve issues. Oversee the purchasing staff, giving direction and guidance when needed.
  • Process all Non Public School and Agency contracts for the special education department ensuring that all contract documents are completed correctly and all required insurance needs are being covered.
  • All contracts for the Bond and facilities department
  • All Non-public requisitions for catholic schools in our district and orders for all of our necessary small schools.
  • All contracts for services come to me for review and to ensure that all documents are attached and in compliance. This includes insurance documentation and endorsement language.
  • I create reports, create and analyze data and I assist in closing every year. I work extensively with principals and secretaries as well as administrators and am an effective communicator in both written and verbal methods.
  • As the priJessica trainer on Munis financials I provide trainings several times a year as well as assisting by phone and video multiple times a day.
  • I created the manual for Munis financials that everyone utilizes for processing requisitions and running budget reports.
  • In the 2017/18 school year I instituted an electronic form process for contracts that has made them much more efficient, timely and easier for all stakeholders.
  • I have been a proud member of CASBO for 20 plus years. I have published documents, presented at local meetings and at the annual conference. Through CASBO I have also made many valuable contacts to reach out to when the need arises.
  • In 2013 we implemented a new enterprise system that encompasses HR, Payroll, Accounting and Purchasing. I am happy to say that I was part of the implementation team and continue to train all users on the financial portion of our system. I also created the manual all users utilize for the financial systems.
  • In 2015 the Community Engagement Coordinator and I developed our new contract process where we have two different processes. One process for direct services to students and a much shorter process for non-direct services. Having both processes enabled our district to coordinate and enforce a process to make sure we know the people entering our schools to make sure our students are protected.
  • In July of 2017 I initiated a new electronic contract process that has not only helped to make contracts much more efficient and timely but easier for all stakeholders. We continue to implement this software across the district automating processes where we can.

As the Procurement & Training Technician I acted as the supervisor of the purchasing department. I assisted in bids and purchasing processes for the purchasing department. I also acted as assistant to David Johnston assisting with any tasks he assigned.

Our financial system at the time was Bitech, I trained all users on how to create requistions and reports in the system.

I would work mornings at the school then come to the administration building and work where needed. During that time I worked on the main frame of the computer system in the basement and as the clerk in the purchasing department
  • November 7, 1997 I was hired as the full time clerk II in the purchasing department. While still acting as the clerk in purchasing I continued to advance from range 44 to 45 then to 46
  • October 23, 2000 I became the Assistant Buyer, I held that position until July 1, 2001 when I became the Buyer
