  • I Manage, guide, supervise & assist up to 30 licensed and unlicensed staff. I manage the budget for the programs. I am part of the management team in implementing programs such as Katie-A, MHSA programs, ERMHS contracts with the local SELPA. I work collaboratively with Dept of Employment Services (CPS), Probation Dept, and the school District. I manage and assist in updating the contracts with contract service providers such as Youth For Change, Victor Community Support Services, Northern Valley Social Services, and counseling Solutions. I assist and work closely with our Contract manager to update and put out RFP's to offer new contracts in our community. I take a leadership role in creating work teams to facilitate the implementation of new programs for MHSA and for Katie-A. I participate in the hiring of new staff. I also take an active role in progressive discipline for staff as needed.
  • I supervise the Supervisors that are tasked with prioritizing and assigning cases and tasks; I assist supervisors in developing staff skills and conduct performance evaluations. I work on identifying training needs and provide training for staff. I monitor and oversee the different levels of services that are offered. I oversee the supervisors and staff that monitor team meetings to review case loads, treatment concerns, and recommendations. I also make sure our Supervision staff oversee the ongoing implementation of urgent care for walk-in clients/families, and respond to community and other agency questions and build community partnerships.
  • I take a leadership role in updating yearly, our contract with the SELPA to manage the ERMHS referrals and monitor Group home placements for North county clients. I assure my supervision staff monitor and assure our staff participate in IEP's and provide all the IEP services.
  • I participate in the county wide bi-monthly Interagency meetings with Dept of Employment Services (CPS), Probation Dept, and the SELPA- to work collaboratively focusing on multidisciplinary treatment planning for children who are most likely served by all the agencies and who at risk of placement or returning home from group home/foster care placement.
  • I take a leadership role in assuring the implementation and ongoing MHSA services are being run. I also oversee the ongoing MHSA services within the Outpatient counseling centers. I supervise and meet with Supervisors and staff regularly to assure MHSA services are run smoothly within the community for TAY, Wellness & Recovery, Mobile Foster care, and Integrated Health. I meet regularly with the Children's Health Center and AMPLA Health center to work on Mental Health and Health Integration. I work collaboratively with the community health centers to assure our Clinicians that are imbedded at the health centers are working towards full integration.
  • I have Overview and maintenance of program budgets for MHSA, General, and flex funds for managing staff training, MHSA programs, and General programs within the Outpatient Centers.
  • I oversee the Supervisors assigned to work with the outpatient staff, and who supervises the Latino wrap Team staff. I assist in providing ongoing cultural sensitive supervision and assist staff in developing culturally appropriate goals & interventions for Latino, Hmong, and African American clients/families. Assist in planning and directing community cultural events.
  • I take a leadership role in working with the different work groups within our dept for Cultural Competency, Suicide prevention, standardization work groups within our Dept, and Katie-A implementation work groups. I also assist compliance work groups to update Policy and procedure. I participate in monthly Quality assurance and auditing of Charts, in addition, I participate in the department's QI committee that takes the lead in improving services for the community and setting standards that the Dept will train to. A Behavioral Health Quality Assurance Clinician09/2006 to 07/2008Butte County Dept of Behavioral HealthChico, CAto oversee the agencies that are contracted with BCDBH, and worked with Quality Assurance within Behavioral Health. I provided training for new staff for Medi-Cal billing. I met with the agency directors/supervisors monthly for oversight and met with them quarterly to assist them in remaining within their contracted budgets. I oversaw TBS services county-wide, I assured the contract agency that offered the TBS services were closely trained and supervised by their licensed staff. I provided training and education regarding state requirements for TBS. I triaged School Based Counseling referrals from 52 different schools throughout the county. I conducted site certifications for the different contract agencies and assured the certifications were current. I worked in the Community Counseling Center providing individual and family therapy / counseling services. Focused on youth, teens, and parents. I facilitated groups for youth and parents. Provided Spanish-speaking services to Latino families. I supervised MSW Interns, and I worked collaboratively with outside agencies. I provided counseling and therapy to severely emotionally disturbed children and their families (K-6th grade), in a Day Treatment setting. I supervised and directed the Rehab Counselor to provide coordinated services within the same setting. I provided direction to the teaching staff in understanding and implementing behavioral interventions for the Day Treatment clients. I developed and maintained a behavioral modification system for the Day Treatment classroom. I coordinated case management services such as connection to Psychiatric, Psychological testing, and community-based services. I also worked collaboratively with the school and social service professionals. I maintained current assessments and treatment plans as required for Medi-Cal guidelines. I provided individual, group, and family therapy. Additionally, I completed monthly reports as necessary for Individual Educational Plans. I provided counseling / therapy to children and families in Oroville. I assisted in coordinating services with other agencies, participated in the monthly SARB Board meetings, provided counseling and resources to Spanish speaking families, and made essential home visits and resource linkage to families. I facilitated psychotherapy groups for teen girls with sexual abuse issues. I worked 1-2 days per week at the Gridley Community Counseling Center offering Spanish speaking TRAC services to Latino clients offering Individual, group, and family therapy. Worked with a Team in the Systems of Care WRAP Around Program that focused on helping kids who were at risk of hospitalization, out of home placement or in foster or group home care. I assisted with wrap around services and linkage to resources. I provided counseling and support to families and their children who were on probation, in Juvenile Hall, or had difficulty in school due to emotional disturbances. I also collaborated with community agencies such as CSD, Probation, and the schools.
