Tenet Healthcare (Hahnemann University Hospital)- Communications Coordinator

Position created after successful tenure as an intern in the Department of Marketing and Business Development. Reported directly to Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO). Role had multiple responsibilities, including marketing, public relations and market research for all key strategic service lines (Heart and Vascular, Oncology, Urology, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery) within academic medical center.

  • Spearheaded marketing efforts for integrated urology services at Hahnemann, including new programs: minimally invasive robotic prostatectomy, erectile dysfunction, and women's incontinence. Strong growth in robotic prostatectomies in FY' 09 (221) FY'08 (132).
  • Built business for hematology/oncology program. Worked directly with CBDO to promote new private practice acquired after the closing of local hospital. Cancer Center admissions increased 314% in FY'09.
  • Engaged in physician relations to promote Healthgrades. Completed plan to update over 50 physician profiles on consumer- based website.
  • Oversaw successful six-month plan to upgrade hospital website from Content Management Service (CMS) to Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server (MOSS) in accordance with corporate initiative.
  • Executed proactive and reactive media relations activities including press releases and media advisories.
