Children's ministry is not just about watching children and providing childcare so that the parents can go do their own thing. My goal in children's ministry is to lead children in a life-changing transformation. Not just to talk about God, but to share the attributes of God and the incredible things He did and continues to do in our lives. Teaching the children about the gospel in a manner that they can understand it, and progressing deeper as they get older, is what leads to the spiritual transformation of the children. It is also vital to understand the differences of the children that may enter the ministry. Not all children come from that same background or culture, and not all children come from a home that is full of believers. Understanding these differences and knowing how to interact with the different children is vital to the ministry. Another key aspect to the ministry is having a kingdom mindset in all that is done. Whether children are their simply to have childcare for an event, or they are coming to class during the typical Sunday service, the goal is to share the gospel with them and approach with a kingdom mindset. Sharing the gospel with the children any chance you get is highly important, even if it is not in the traditional format, simply showing God's love and sharing with the children how much He loves us is just as effective.
