Professional Summary
Since graduating from college, I have been employed as a post-baccalaureate IRTA research fellow at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) in the Department of Neurobiology. Our lab studies synaptic and developmental plasticity in the hippocampus, with a focus on the unusual CA2 subregion. We use a variety of techniques including electrophysiology, immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, mouse genetics, and behavioral measurements to investigate this unique part of the hippocampus. In the lab, I conduct independent experiments, provide technical support to graduate students and post-docs, review manuscripts, manage the mouse colony, order laboratory supplies, and mentor high school volunteers.
