Responsibilities; work on electoral, legislative and issue based campaigns of the union, leads staff, members and volunteers, builds and maintains relationships with key political figures, including federal, state and ton elected and appointed officials, employers, labor unions and progressive community organizations, builds and manages an engaged and active membership.
1199SEIU is the largest local union in the world, with nearly 400,000 members throughout New York State, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Florida, Maryland and the District of Columbia. 1199SEIU UHE is a union of healthcare workers. Members work in the homecare, hospital and nursing home industries, as well as pharmacies, freestanding clinics and other healthcare settings.
