I am an executive in the Sheriff's Office, and responsible for directing the major law enforcement divisions in law enforcement operations, jail and administration in the Sheriff's Office. I report directly to the Office of the Sheriff (Sheriff) and assume command of the Office in the absence of the Sheriff.

Lieutenant - Canton Police Department
City, STATE, 11/1999 - 01/2012

As a Lieutenant with the Police Department I was responsible for the day to day operations for the divisions of the Special Response Team, Criminal Investigations Division, Traffic Enforcement, Downtown Parking Unit, Code Enforcement and Emergency Management.

(Sergeant - 6 years)

As a Sergeant (Traffic Unit) I was responsible for the day to day operations in the Traffic Unit. This included Traffic enforcement, Traffic investigation and Accident Reconstruction.

(Officer - 3 years)

As a Officer, I was responsible for dispatched and self initiated calls and traffic stops, from day to day.

Sergeant/Agent - Pickens Sheriff's Office
City, STATE, 11/1994 - 11/1999

As a employee of the Pickens Sheriff's Office, assigned as a Agent to the Appalachian Drug Task Force, I was responsible for narcotics investigation. This included, undercover operations, working Confidential informants, and Analyzing narcotics for court proceedings.

(Sergeant - 3 years)

As a Sergeant in the Criminal Investigation Division, I was responsible for supervising and motivating field investigators and collaborated with personnel to identify strengths and areas of weakness. Presentations and training materials were developed to educate colleagues and the community about local gang activity. Information and physical evidence associated with investigations was collected, analyzed, interpreted and documentation.

I recognized the need for advanced training for the Sheriff's Office and the community as it relates to active shooter incidents. As an advocate of Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT), I began aggressively working to become an instructor in ALERRT and trained Sheriff's Office staff, along with others in surrounding agencies.

In 2019, I was able to teach over 150 law enforcement, firemen and dispatchers in ALERRT Level 1 and/or Active Attack Integrated Response. I was able to help create an Active Attack program for the entire Pickens County School District, Reinhardt College, and North Georgia Christian Academy. This Program included teaching CRASE to over 1000 people, including Churches, Businesses and Medical care faculties.
I also was able to help teach ALERRT with Adjunct instructors in Pigeon Forge Tennessee, Broward County Sheriff's Office Florida and Forth Worth Police Department in the Great State of Texas.

Teen Driving Program (co-creator)
In 2007, I was approached to help develop a driving program for at-risk teens. We launched the training in the Fall of 2007. This programmed tracked students for three years. We had a 97% success rate for non-repeat offending. This program is still the standard for Juvenile court in 2020.

Alcohol and Drug Program (co-creator)
In 2009 with the successes of the TDIP program, the Juvenile Chief Judge asked me to create an Alcohol and Drug Program. I enlisted the help of another Law Enforcement Officer and built the program. This program was also a success and taught for 3 years, until funding ran out.
