Abstract: Placement of feeding tube relies on repeated fluoroscopic procedures, exposing patients to unnecessary doses of radiation. FeedRite consists of a removable insert placed inside a standard feeding tube. The insert tip contains microsensors that measure various physiological values. Health care provider who conducts the placement can then ascertain where the end of the feeding tube is located by comparing reported values to a list of reference values. The use of radiation-free techniques makes FeedRite feeding tube safer, more affordable, and more reliable than traditional feeding tube placement procedure.

Abstract: Soybean cyst nematode is a worm that lives in the soil and feeds on soybean's roots. It uses stylet to penetrate root's cell wall and secrete protein effectors for infection. We used computational tools to assemble all the genes expressed by a nematode when it starts infecting roots. To establish a transcript library, possible protein functions were assigned to each coding gene using BLAST database.
