Profile

I have worked in the Laboratory Industry for over 20 years. I am a dedicated employee with motivation to learn. I am in the field because patient care is very important to me and my work reflects this. I am a detailed analytical thinker and also a very independent individual. I have many years of experience in working with Complex Surgical Specimens. I have worked with Frozen Section Specimens and Molecular Diagnostics Pathology. Being a Supervisor for many years I work well with management and my peers. I have been very successful in training new P.A.'s and have written many S.O.P.'s for Laboratory Compliance and Inspections.

Certifications and Credentials

Trained in 1989 by Dr Spain and Dr Amirkhan with Damon Clinical Laboratory in Irving, Texas. Training and indirect supervison was the nationwide practice at the time. In 1995, CLIA and CAP regulatory agencies began to regulate the educational requirements. As a results anyone already practicing as an on the job tranined PA was grandfathered and allowed to continue to practice. During CAP and CLIA inspections I have provided a letter stating I was performing complex surgical specimens before 1995. This letter has always satisfied the inspectors. I understand that my education can not be seen in a degree format. I have spent several months as an intern throughout the hospital networks in Dallas Fort Worth. After 22 years of experience and training residents or fellows I am very confident in the performance that I provide. With my experience in management, training of Pathologist Assistants and writing and updating SOP's -Standard Operating Procedures in the laboratory, I feel that my education can be seen in my work.
