    I am currently self employed as a licensed Child Care Provider. I have been operating my own business for 15 years. I have a great deal of responsibilities. I work with 10 to 15 children through out a day with many different personalities. Some are more challenging than others. I have designed lesson plans focused on age and level-appropriate material. I have combined discipline plan with effective measures and various lesson plans to increase concentration, participation, and progress children's accountability. Also, created and enforced child-based hands-on curriculum to promote the child's interest and receptive learning. I have a close relationship with all my families. I have an open door policy for anyone with concerns or questions. For each parent I have contracts for them to read and sign along with health questioners, and admission forms. It helps me get to know the child better. I also keep a record of tax information for myself and families. I have also taken a great deal of educational classes through the Maine Roads to Quality such as Preschool Development, Introduction to Early Childhood Education., Caring for Infants and Toddlers, Inclusive Child Care, Getting Started in family Childcare, Caring for the Abuse Affected Child, School Age, Core Knowledge Portfolio Development, Completing your Core Knowledge Portfolio, Partners in Caring and I have attended a great deal of meetings at the ABC Academy directed by AMHC. Our topics of discussion were Children with behavioral issues. I also have several elective hours for child development. I was the spokes person for the Aroostook County Action Program for Getting started in family Child Care. I have created a portfolio in regards to all the classes I have taken such as certificates, homework and assignments.
