Successfully managed all aspects of a full-service grocery store in a small community setting. Responsibilities included supervision of department managers and staff, supervision of accounting personnel, accounts payable, weekly advertising, scheduling, inventory control, budgeting, hiring and training, pricing and merchandising grocery department, payroll, troubleshooting, improvement of customer relations, creating great customer service therefore improving sales and growth.
Purchased the former Food Country IGA that was unprofitable for many years after being run as a corporate store. I bought the store in April 1990 and after controling expenses and gross profit and improving sales, this store was profitable in the first year.
Sold store in summer of 1998.
