I am a very energetic person with a lot of passion for people of all ages, especially kids. I have served on a mentor program for three years now and love to give back anyway I can. I have also been on Maypearl ISD's Education Foundation Board for 3 years. On the board I help raise money through fundraisers and then disperse the funds to students in the form of scholarships. We also use the money to purchase materials and programs for teachers. I am currently in charge of planning and running the golf tournament for the board, which is the biggest fundraising event of the year. As a teacher/coach I really look forward to the opportunity of teaching the students how to be a successful adult not only on the playing field or in the classroom, but in the real world. My ultimate goal is to impact as many people as I possibly can. My philosophy as a teacher/coach is to put everyone in a situation to succeed. I believe this is done through showing a commitment to the student so that they buy-in to what I am trying to do. Once they buy-in it is essential that they are aware of the rules and expectations and held accountable for their actions. I look forward to the potential opportunity to pursue my passion at Trinity Leadership!
At TLCA I was a Biology, Chemistry, and PE teacher. I take pride in my teaching skills and work hard to master my weaknesses as an instructor. I feel as though I have made a great impact on the students that I have come into contact with. During our Benchmark STAAR I had 84% of my students Meet or Approach. The state average on this exam was 59% so I was extremely proud of our efforts! On the coaching side I was the Head Football, Head Basketball, and Head Baseball Coach. On the field I preach accountability and intensity. I believe that sports transcends the field. The effort you give between the lines carries on to the classroom, workplace, and even relationships. I feel it is important to understand how to handle failure, as well as success. This is another valuable lesson I try to instill in my student/athletes.
