I began working at the Abilene State Supported Living Center on April 1, 2011. During that time I was hired as a Direct Support Professional. After approximately 1 year in that position, I applied for a QIDP 2 position which is considered administrative employment. I enjoyed the client -focused work and the creativity involved in making sure their basic needs were met. I feel that I bring energy and compassion to any team I am apart of. Everything I did as a QIDP 2 was centralized around me being a team lead of varying disciplines. That team's ultimate goal was to evaluate and accommodate client's individualized wants/needs. My previous job fostered my ability to work well with varying levels of disciplines and gave me experience in dissolving conflict among disciplines in order to reach common goals. The QIDP 2 job required deadline and detail oriented work in documentation, as well as superior communication skills. My main duties were, documenting medical and programmatic updates, goal setting and implementation, communication among disciplines such as RNs, Physicians, Psychiatry, Behavioral Health etc.

After leaving AbSSLC, I took on the task of starting my own business, Callahan Kids LLC. I have owned this business since 07/25/2019. Starting my own daycare afforded me the opportunity to be at home with my two small children and also helped me establish a good reputation in the community of Clyde. During my time spent at home, I also took a second position with Brumfield Law PLLC as an office manager. I efiled, took all phone calls, attended court via Zoom and documented all attorney notes, I invoiced clients, and helped establish client confidence in our firm.
