I am currently the Operations Manager at Excalibur Machine and Sheet Metal in Colorado Springs. I am looking for new opportunities and challenges in the production, manufacturing, or warehousing related fields as these tend to be my areas of expertise. I have experience with MRP/ERP systems, all MS Office programs, BOM creation and structure, quoting, and creating purchase orders. I have 13 years of management and training experience, including continuous improvement processes. I am also very familiar with lean manufacturing principles and standard work processes. As an operations manager at Excalibur my main objectives are to oversee the day to day operations of the company and coordinate all production and shop activities. I hold production meetings twice a week with a supervisor from each department to go over the work schedule and to discuss upcoming jobs. I am also responsible for 5S and continuous improvement projects, maintaining and acquiring new customers and reviewing equipment purchases. Familiar with ISO 9001, and OSHA standards and regulations. I am also very familiar with manufacturing processes and I have operated a variety of equipment and am very familiar with blueprints. The things that I enjoy most about my job are the problem solving and decision making aspects that come with the position. Each day is different and the work moves at a very quick pace. This makes for a new challenge each day. I thoroughly enjoy manufacturing and all that comes with it. The most rewarding part of manufacturing is being able to take a piece of material and make something out of nothing for a functional end product that the end customer will use and enjoy. I also like to manage groups of people and be able to bring them together to achieve a common goal. My management style has always been very hands on. I have been able to gain a lot of co-workers respect by being hands on and helping them complete a task. This has been very important to me throughout my management career as this tends to boost morale and I am able to get the best quality and production from the people I supervise. I am excited about a new opportunity with another great company to continue to expand my manufacturing knowledge and experience while facing new challenges in the future.
