I have maintained my first job for three years after wanting to move up to Northern California. Within my short work experience, I have learned to and am skilled in landscaping, and have worked with trees and other plants. Such tasks in that aspect include handling tree growth and welds, and plucking weeds. I am also good with maintaining order when it comes to keeping trash cans, and gutters, as well as sidewalks and parking lots clean (scrubbing, litter picking, etc.). Cleaning was something I always specialized in doing, even before I had a job. Along with cleaning and landscaping, I have also developed skills in recycling during my time with the company. While working under CalTrans, I was instructed to maintain order within the rest areas, more particularly, by keeping the bathrooms clean. Outside of my professional work, I have re-build fences and lifted heavy material. I am very interested in doing any kind of work that involves lifting and using strength. But I am open to any other job opportunities and learning different skills. My ultimate goal is to build on my experience, and learn more work skills. I am also good with taking initiative and working unprompted. My supervisors tell me I have the tools to be a leader, and that they like that I can always find new tasks. When most of my co-workers wait to be told what to do, I look around and scan the rest area in hopes of finding different tasks and seeing what needs to be done. I am hoping to do so as I build on experience which is why I decided to participate in volunteer work as well as helping out locally, such as mowing lawns and trimming bushes for my neighbors. I am a high-energy Landscaper dedicated to transforming everyday spaces into functional and aesthetically-pleasing landscapes that stimulate the senses, as well as a gardener successful in creating and maintaining gardens, lawns and parks that are clean, safe and environmentally friendly. People also tell me that I exhibit a positive attitude and strong attention to detail most of the time. I also speak and work with adults dealing with substance abuse at Strategies for Change, and have been involved in doing volunteer work at my local church, South Sacramento Community Christian Center. Recently, I have also picked up a new job with Southside Recycling in Sacramento, California. I have worked there for over a year. During my time with them I began working as a part-timer in the sorting room, but eventually got promoted to working full-time on the office building truck team. After my tenure with Southside Recycling ended, I was hired by Pride Industries months later, as a member of their janitorial cleaning crew, where I currently work. My main tasks include cleaning restrooms in their entirety, disposing of any and all trash, as well as vacuuming. While employed there, I also did a brief stint working in their warehouses, where I folded and made boxes to be shipped out to various companies. I am multi faceted, and I pick up on things quickly. I am always willing to gain more experience.
