I unfortunately do not have previous formal research under my belt, so this marks the beginning of my academic pursuit in undergraduate research. This is the single most important skill I need to develop in order to participate in professional pharmacological research. I'm very interested in the nature of pharmacology and the different various modes of maintaining wellbeing. I have seen first hand the miracles drugs can achieve but also their destructive nature. My vision is to educate myself most effectively on acquiring sustainable modes of well being without having to indefinitely rely on drugs. I believe my addition to your research will not only help me propagate this vision, but to provide a potentially fresh perspective as well.
I have over the last year noticed an acute tendency to manage and organize otherwise shambolic and and poorly communicative collaborative efforts. While I have always been the lone wolf type, I have come to notice I can adapt myself as a leader when necessary. This feels very natural to me, as my professional writing class last spring being a recent example, I was the glue that held the group together. I managed the time, motivation, and creativity to the project. Now I'm not the one to just carry everyone else's slack, but more rather bring into clear view of their responsibility through empathy and necessary assertive action.
While I have implicitly covered this in the previous skill and through my various jobs, I feel that it is necessary to mention. COVID-19 has tested many of us and has also perhaps uncovered blemishes on all of our characters. However, I have demonstrated to myself that I remained resilient through all of the fuss. Maintaining adequate grades and not caving into the pass/fail system offered, I have also taken this change in living as a means of self exploration and achievement of a more spacious well being. We're all being put through it currently but I believe firmly that none of this will disrupt my being present with my colleagues and the task at hand.

This is my current place of employment and I'm quite happy here. It provides a different angle to entering the workforce that I, a sheltered science major would otherwise be completely unaware of. I'm learning more about the true nature to marketing yourself and separating yourself from the pack. Due to my interests, I don't often find myself outside of environments that merely require an inquisitive academic. This job helps me build character in ways I feel would beneficially transition into a research setting.

I have and maintain a personal relationship with the owner of this company so It allowed for much flexibility.
