I am an experienced registered respiratory therapist looking to relocate to the Pittsburgh area. I am a motivated and charismatic person. I have an amplitude of skills and have worked with patients of all ages. I am looking to join a professional team and to further my experience and knowledge of respiratory care.
I graduated from respiratory school with a 4.0. I have worked in adult critical care for 6 years. During that time I worked with the servo I vents mostly along with the open-lung tool and APRV. I have been a pediatric intensive care therapist since 2008 and a neonatal therapist since 2009. I joined the NICU transport team in 2010. In 2010, I also started taking the role as Resource Person of a 575 bed hospital with a smaller sister hospital of 31 beds that we also staffed. From 2009-2011, I was the clinical instructor for the hospital. I was responsible for the experience and education of 5 respiratory students at a time rotating in shifts.
Responsibilities included arterial/capillary/a-line blood draws, analysis, and interpretation. Intubation of 22 weeks gestation infants and older. Surfactant administration and charting/charging. Nasal CPAP administration and management. Ventilator management of Servo I, Jet, Oscillator, and INO. Aerosol and CPT therapy. CXR positioning and interpretation. Attendance to all high risk deliveries including c-sections. RT's are responsible for all morning labs. Participated in the pediatric open-heart program with Dr. Black (a new program started the year I started) which boosted our volume of cardiac admissions in the NICU.
Hired for level 2 NICU and deliveries and charge therapist. Covered all aspects of adult care including ER, MICU, SICU, telemetry, oncology, and med/surg. Responsible for daily count and staffing.
Duties included all aspects of adult care including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, CPT, PEP, IS, tracheostomy care, ventilator management (invasive and non-invasive), and computer charting. A lot of my time was spent in charge, in PICU or NICU. I was a part of the NICU transport team. Nitric oxide challenge experience in the cath lab.
Responsibilities included assessment and treatment of adult floor patients.
