I joined the Marine Corps in August of 2008. Following boot camp I attended the School of Infantry. After completion of that I was stationed at Camp Lejeune. I deployed for the first time in January 2010 and spent the deployment working with my team leader on the skills necessary to become a leader. Following deployment in August if that year I took over my own fire team. I attended several courses to increase my skills, and was in charge of training junior Marines in these fields. I deployed again in May 2011 to Afghanistan. I completed the deployment without incident, and maintained accountability of all the gear entrusted to my team.
I started working as a dishwasher, and due to hard work was quickly promoted to making pizza. Shortly following that I was promoted to ovens. I worked in ovens for about a year and a half ensuring all orders were placed in the oven and properly cooked.
Achieved a 4.0 GPA my first semester
