  • Facilitated negotiation and closing on the largest dollar value sale ($20M) of a standalone Class A television station.
  • Coordinated with client's legal team to refinance loans from multiple sources into a single instrument which included ancillary agreements for lender's security.
  • Negotiated affiliation and distribution agreements regarding specific Southeast Asian programming then negotiated carriage agreements for client's broadcast stations on cable and satellite.
  • Lobbied FCC to obtain unique relief for broadcasters in the form of STAs to operate when, under "normal" rules, the specified operations would not be permitted.
  • Defended clients successfully against obscenity complaints, technical rule violations, multiple ownership inquiries and EEO audits before the FCC.
  • Scrutinized sponsorship announcements and advertisements to insure compliance with FCC and FTC regulations.
  • Collaborated with entrepreneurs to develop business plans and obtain institutional and private funding for startup ventures, including participation in FCC spectrum auctions.
  • Formulated strategies following analysis of discovery in several high profile cases including: due diligence on major television acquisitions,, and discovery/deposition preparation in $25M civil suit.
  • Analyzed contracts, agreements, leases, etc., as part of due diligence review for major television station acquisitions.
  • Reviewed documentary evidence and provided analysis in response to DOJ Second Requests in several high profile anti-trust compliance cases including Hitachi/Western Digital and Flowers/Hostess.
  • Assisted in deposition preparation and subpoena responses in preparation for ATT/T- Mobile proceedings involving DOJ and FCC.
  • Founded AM Daytimers Association and successfully lobbied FCC to allow AM stations to use FM translators to simulcast.

  • Produced $250K of new business for the firm annually and spearheaded change to firm policy to recognize associates for successful business development efforts.

  • Procured one-of-a-kind Special Temporary Authority to allow a client to operate its station fifteen years before FCC action licensed the operation of the station.
  • Devised a system to organize and manage the filing, prosecution to grant and construction of 500 separate facilities in the 220 MHz service on behalf of client spectrum aggregators.
  • Lobbied FCC and Congress to create Class A category for LPTV facilities then guided clients through regulatory requirements to achieve the new status.
  • Prosecuted FCC applications for authorizations in the media, wireless and cable services.
