I honestly am a hard worker, and i do my best to make sure the jobs i am given are done right and on time. i provide all that i have within my jobs. I work great with coworkers but i also work if not better on my own. I am really good with talking to customers. I am not afraid to work outside of comfort zones, i actually enjoy learning new things and growing new skills. I know my jobs are either short time periods or a little spacious but i give it my all. I moved out right after graduation to start my first job, as a teen just starting out things would interfere with these select jobs. Whether it was distance, hometown family issues, or the pay differences. I enjoy hard work and now that I've got my head on the right path i am ready for a hard working, good paying, stable job.
While working for Yoder and Sons i ran the bandsaw and the chop saw. I had to know how to change the blades and chains when needed, also knowing exact amounts of productivity for each day and making sure we cut enough to meet those requirements per day. I was put on both machines with another coworker on the other end of the line. If i was cutting one day he was catching, and if he wanted to we would switch to give each other a break of the same side everyday. After we would cut the pieces of lumber needed and the scrap I would have to take the scrap that we couldn't salvage to a designated spot in shop until someone came to load it.
I blew fiber optic cable throughout North Carolina and some of South Carolina. Catching the cables and making sure there is not a kink in the cable and making sure we had enough cable. I had to make sure there was the right amount of cable for a job because too little or too much would cost our company money to fix the errors. As i only worked there for a short amount of time my work and dedication to making sure the job was done right and on time of deadlines i was given the job of a foreman for my crew.
I got raw unfinished materials and moved it into the production lines and when it was finished and rescanned for the final time i loaded it onto the trailers to be taken to their destinations.
I loaded and unloaded trailers and train rail carts containing building materials, anything from drywall to constructional steel. I was basically given the title of a yard manager being i was the only person to touch any of the steel entering or leaving our company. i was also in charge of making hacks.
