"Talk with a Cop" - Coordinator

February, 2021

"Talk with a Cop" was a community outreach program I orchestrated with the Mass State Police Learning Center and Mass State Police Recruitment Unit. It was designed to expose college aged students on the career and operations of Police Work, educate them on the hiring process, and build a community relationship with college aged groups. It was advertised to colleges in Massachusetts and on the State Police Social Media. The program had over 100 registrations and over 80 participants, and was one of the largest programs in the Learning Centers history.

Worcester County District Attorney’s Office Virtual Law Program
07/2020 to 08/2020
The District Attorney Virtual Law Program highlighted different aspects of the District Attorney’s Office’s role in the community and criminal justice system. Students attend meetings with members of the DA's Office, such as DA Joe D. Early Jr, and are taught on important aspects of the operations of the DAs Office. Students received presentations on Criminal Procedure, Community Relations, Victim Advocacy, and other topics related to Criminal Prosecution.

Massachusetts State Police Student Trooper Academy

The program is designed to expose young adults to the demands of police training and to develop better relationships between the youth of our communities and the police that serve them. Veteran Massachusetts State Police trainers provided classroom and hands-on training in topics such as First Aid/CPR, Criminal Law, Officer Safety, Crime Scene Investigations, Safe Driving, EVOC, Leadership, Internet Safety, Team Building, and Physical Fitness. Student Troopers will also observe and participate in demonstrations by members of State Police specialty units such as tactical teams, the K-9 Unit, and the Air Wing.

Battle of the Badges provided program participants with hands-on learning and demonstrations from expert instructors from federal, state, and local Public Safety Agencies and community organizations. Massachusetts Junior Conservation Camp (MJCC)

Massachusetts Firearm Safety (FID), Boating Safety, Outdoor Recreation, Stewardship of Natural Resources, and Ethical Responsibility in the pursuit of Outdoor Activities. The camp aims to educate campers about conservation of natural resources and responsible use of the environment. Natural resource professionals from state agencies provide hands-on experiences and demonstrations and lead discussions on wildlife, fisheries, and forest management. In the evening, campers participate in demonstrations of outdoor recreation topics. The camp also heavily focused on the ethics and morals behind hunting and outdoor recreation.
