Started out in the Paint Department and was responsible for prepping all the bus's for the them to install interior work.
Work as a team with my crew to get specific tasks done in a short amount of time, if I was done and somebody else wasn't in my area, I would help them out.
Spray paint the interior window posts and place wire harness' for real lights.
Moved to Exterior skins area, because they needed another worker that was dependable. This job consisted of me and my crew prepping the bus as it came to us and gluing and calking the bus, in order for us to put the exterior side skins on.
Installing wire harness' for side Stop arm.
Inspect the bus before and after my work is complete to ensure quality product.
Fast, but very efficient work is demanded out of all departments and trained from day one.
Manage and operate a Fertilizer Plant.
Load trucks with a specific fertilizer and make sure the weight matches the pick ticket.
Use good communication skills to be respectful of the truck operator and to ensure no spills happen while loading each hopper.
Operate a huge Loader to scoop and dump fertilizer in our drag to then go on our conveyor belt, then inside a specific bin.
Maintain and clean all the Bins as needed. Bins consisted of, Urea, Potash, Zinc, Dap, 12-40, and Super Urea.
Perform the necessary maintenance on equipment and machine as needed. Fertilizer is notorious for eating and decaying iron and rust, so maintenance is always needed frequently.
Sometimes we would have train rail cars full of fertilizer that we would dump into our outside drag to go to a specific bin.
While doing this, I would drive the Loco with attached rail cars.
Before I was promoted to this position at the fertilizer plant I worked at all the ADM grain elevators as a Laborer.
That job most consisted of cleaning the elevators on a daily basis and moving grain from one bin to the next.
We also loaded 117 rail cars full of either milo or wheat very frequently. my job was to either drive the loco the whole time, open up rail car tops while being attached and secured with my harness. Take grain samples to ensure the right % of moisture is in the rail cars that is promised to our costumer, or work in the basement opening up the multiple bins to be loaded into the cars.
I had a team of 6 individuals that I was responsible for on a nightly basis to ensure our tasks were done correctly and in a timely manner.
Used proper team coaching techniques and worked together as a high functioning team.
I would be responsible for my teams work to be done and then our finished cabinets would go to me to load them in the back of our semis.
Often times our trucks would have anywhere from 50 cabinets to 200 cabinets that needed loaded on basically a nightly basis.
It was almost like playing a game of real life tetris fitting all the cabinets 3 high and as tight as possible so there would be no way of any getting damaged on the trip to their destination.
Inspect each and every inch of the cabinets to make sure they were in prestige shape to load.
Wrap or box the cabinets before loading into our trucks.
Run and operate an electric fork lift for storing extra cabinets into our inventory.
Lead a team of 5 people to cut down, break apart, sell, and buy metal goods in our warehouse.
Used costumer service skills while talking to clients that would sell their scrap metal to us.
Ran and operated a propane fork lift and skidsteer.
Operated a propane/oxygen cutting torch to cut iron, aluminum and steel to 1ft squares to be shipped off to Chicago for our buyers.
Weigh up truck beds full of metal and used computer skills to make a ticket and cutting them checks to finalize the deal.
