  • Provide advocacy and assistance to 15,000 residents living in Long-Term Care facilities in Alameda County, addressing allegations of abuse. neglect and violation of resident's rights.
  • Manage and coordinates day-to-day program operations for Alameda Long Term Care Ombudsman Program (PSA 9), including supervision of Regional Supervisors & Support Specialist. Manages facility coverage, investigates allegations of abuse and neglect, provides information and assistance to direct reports, residents, community partners and facility staff.
  • Conduct quarterly and yearly evaluations and reviews.
  • Provide oversight to ensure Ombudsman are consistently present within facilities assessing quality of care and quality of life, in addition to, investigating complaints of abuse and neglect. Ensuring that residents have regular and timely access to an Ombudsman; accordance with state and national standards.
  • Ensure complaints are thoroughly investigated, resolved satisfactory to the resident and/or complainant, documented and reviewed in ODIN.
  • Compile and review for data integrity-monthly reports for contractors and donors.
  • Collaborate with Lead Regional Supervisors to develop consistent policies and procedures to reflect across each program area: Contra Costa (PSA 7), Alameda (PSA 9) and Solano (PSA 28).
  • Coordinate and Collaborate Department fo Public Health, Community Care licensing, Department of Social Services, Adult Protective Services, Law enforcement and local community programs as necessary for complaint resolution, to gather or provide information and assistance and/or to address system issues with facilities.
